Paldean Fates runs to 245 cards: a 91-card main set, followed by a Shiny subset that accounts for the remaining 154. That subset is the reason the set exists. It holds 120 Shiny Rare cards and 12 Shiny Ultra Rare Pokémon ex, covering Paldean debutants alongside long-standing favourites, with Charizard, Forretress and Espathra appearing as Shiny Tera Pokémon ex and Great Tusk and Iron Treads as Ancient and Future Pokémon ex.
At the top of the set sit eight Special Illustration Rares, headed by Mew ex, Charizard ex, and Gardevoir ex, with Iono, Clive rounding out the Supporter treatments. Above those are six gold Hyper Rares. Shiny Mew ex leads the Shiny Ultra Rares, while Shiny Pikachu, Mimikyu, Charmander, Snorlax and Ditto remain the most chased cards from the standard Shiny tier.
